Vietlott Mega 6/45 and Power 6/55 explained: how to play, prizes, checking
Vietlott is Vietnam's computerised pick-your-own lottery, run by the Vietnam Lottery Company: instead of buying a pre-printed ticket you choose your numbers on a terminal, and the jackpot rolls over until someone wins it — which is why jackpots reach tens or hundreds of billions of đồng.
Mega 6/45
Pick 6 numbers from 01–45; 10,000đ a line. Draws Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 18:00. Prizes: 6 matches → Jackpot (minimum 12 billion, rolling); 5 → 1st prize 10 million; 4 → 2nd 300,000đ; 3 → 3rd 30,000đ.
Power 6/55
Pick 6 numbers from 01–55; each draw also produces a special number (the JP2 number). Draws Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 18:00. Prizes: 6 matches → Jackpot 1 (minimum 30 billion); 5 + the special number → Jackpot 2 (minimum 3 billion); 5 → 1st prize 40 million; 4 → 2nd 500,000đ; 3 → 3rd 50,000đ.
How to check
Unlike the traditional lottery there is no "last digits" rule: you count how many of your numbers appear in the winning set, in any order. The Vietlott card on DoSoNhanh shows the numbers, the JP2 number and the current jackpot for the latest draw; older draws are on the Vietlott page.
Claiming and tax
Prizes under 10 million are paid at the point of sale; larger prizes at a Vietlott branch with the original ticket and ID, within 60 days of the draw. 10% personal income tax applies to the part above 10 million.
